The Burnaby Board of Trade (BBOT) is seeking dynamic, engaged, and community-minded business leaders to join our Board of Directors — and there’s never been a more exciting time to get involved.

With new leadership at the helm and a bold strategic refresh underway, BBOT is focused on amplifying advocacy, fueling economic development, uplifting members, and elevating experiences across Burnaby’s business community. Our Board plays a critical role in this work — guiding strategy, strengthening governance, and helping shape a thriving business community for today and tomorrow.

We are looking for passionate champions of our organization—leaders who want to roll up their sleeves, be actively engaged, and serve as true ambassadors for BBOT. We are particularly interested in candidates from mid-sized businesses (under 100 employees).

We welcome leaders from sectors critical to Burnaby’s economy, including technology, life sciences and health, clean tech, film and creative industries, advanced manufacturing, professional services, retail and trade, and logistics.

 

Board Members:
  • Serve as strategic stewards of the organization, guiding direction, ensuring strong governance, and keeping member interests front and centre
  • Commit to attending six board meetings per year and are encouraged to participate in committee work and BBOT events
  • Bring thoughtful insight to decision-making and contribute meaningfully to board discussions
  • Understand and support BBOT’s mission, strategy, and governance practices
  • Act with integrity, care, and diligence, always in the best interest of BBOT and its members

 

This is a governance board with real impact—a place for leaders who want to think big, engage deeply, and help move Burnaby forward. If you’re ready to make a difference, we’d love to hear from you.
