Vassilis Souvlaki Greek Taverna Announced as 2026 Burnaby Business Hall of Fame Inductee

Burnaby, BC – The Burnaby Board of Trade (BBOT) is delighted to announce that Vassilis Souvlaki Greek Taverna is the 2026 inductee into the Burnaby Business Hall of Fame. 

The Burnaby Business Hall of Fame is an annual award presented by the BBOT in partnership with the City of Burnaby. It recognizes a well-established Burnaby business that has achieved outstanding success and made a lasting contribution to the local community. 

“Vassilis represents the very best of Burnaby’s business community: decades of hard work, genuine hospitality, and a lasting commitment to the people they serve. We’re delighted to welcome them into the Burnaby Business Hall of Fame,” said Carl Funk, Board Chair of the Burnaby Board of Trade. 

For over 40 years, Vassilis Souvlaki Greek Taverna has been a staple of Burnaby’s business community, serving authentic Greek cuisine inspired by the traditions and flavours of Greece. Located on Kingsway, the family-run restaurant has grown into one of the city’s most established and recognized dining destinations. Its menu of Greek favourites includes souvlaki, roasted lamb, spanakopita, moussaka, fresh Greek salad, and seafood dishes. 

The business is guided by the Greek tradition of hospitality, a principle that continues to shape every aspect of its operations, from everyday dining to large-scale events. The restaurant accommodates groups of up to 120 guests for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, and family gatherings, making it a go-to venue for the community’s milestone occasions.
