Lise Townsend works at Metro Vancouver, leading a team focused on policy for cleaner air and a safer climate for the region. She previously led climate and environmental programs at the Cities of Surrey and Burnaby. With a background in planning and urban ecology, Lise is passionate about helping cities reduce pollution and shift toward healthier forms of development, including cleaner and safer energy systems, such as low-carbon district energy systems.
