This Month's Boardroom Series Topic: Hong Kong: Gateway to the Chinese MarketAre you interesting in selling into, or sourcing from, the China market? Mr. Barrett Bingley of ICS TRUST will lead a presentation and Q&A session on how to use Hong Kong to enter the China market in a successful manner. Mr. Bingley will cover the legal, tax and banking regimes of Hong Kong and explain the particular advantages of Hong Kong when setting up Wholly Owned Foreign Enterprises, Joint Ventures and Representative Offices in China. In addition Mr. Bingley will explain the differences in compliance, accounting and audit requirements in Hong Kong and China and how these can be handled in an efficient manner. He will also clarify some of the common misperceptions relating to corporate structures for foreign companies in China and discuss recent progress in China’s efforts regarding protection of intellectual property. Presenter: Barrett Bingley Barrett Bingley joined ICS TRUST in Hong Kong in 2010 after spending a year and half working with mining and oil and gas companies to source funding from Asia. Mr. Bingley was recently the Senior Policy Advisory to the past Canadian Ministers of International Trade and Foreign Affairs where he oversaw such diverse initiatives as the creation of Canada's Global Commerce Strategy and the Export Development Canada Legislative Review while visiting China and Hong Kong on numerous trade missions. Prior to this Mr. Bingley was a visiting scholar at the Indonesian Center for Strategic and International Studies covering Asian trade and security issues. Mr. Bingley is a Commonwealth Scholar in International Relations with a Master’s Degree from Victoria University of Wellington, NZ with a B.A from the Royal Military College of Canada. Mr. Bingley has developed deep networks and knowledge of business and international trade in Hong Kong and China.
